After 6+ years as a bootstrapped project we took a big step forward in August and announced the close of our seed round 🌱 🌱🌱

We'd like the extend a big thank you to 1kx for leading the round, Primitive Ventures and Gnosis for their large contributions, and to the many amazing angels who showed their trust and belief in Blockscout, sharing our vision for a decentralized, multi-faceted and open-source explorer built to serve the multi-chain future 🤝

Blockscout Raises $3M Seed Round Led by 1kx

In addition to our fundraising announcement, August was development heavy with the release of our new DAppscout star ratings feature and a major backend release v6.8.0. We'll share additional details on the features and optimizations in v6.8.0 in an upcoming blog post. Below find a recap of our announcements and achievements in August.

Campaign wrap ups

• Dapp Ratings campaign: We released the new star ratings feature for DAppscout and received over 400 ratings for user's favorite DApps. Winners received a share of the $500 USDC prize pool.
• SmolRefuel raffle
  This promotion ran on Galxe and 3 lucky participants who used SmolRefuel in Blockscout to top of their gas each received $100 USDC in the campaign raffle.

Public Goods Funding

A key to Blockscout's success and longevity is the public goods funding we've received from many different grants, agencies, and individuals who support open-source and decentralization.

This month we participated in several campaigns and received generous donations from the giving community. The organizations running these campaigns and the individuals who donate are extremely important to the ecosystem. Kudos🏅🏅🏅and many thanks 🙏🙏🙏 to you all!

• Gitcoin: The thriving Arbitrum Summer round concluded with over 1,000 folks donating 1.6K+ to Blockscout and 4K+ in matching funding, for a total of $5,708.26 raised! This grant will support Blockscout's continued explorer development within the Arbitrum ecosystem.

• Giveth: The GIV-ARB QF round featured 150K in matching ARB for projects. We raised hundreds from donors with up to 33X matching from the round.
• Octant: Octant continues to explore new funding mechanisms for public goods. Currently 42 public goods projects are competing for 15 funding slots in epoch 5. As of today Blockscout is not in the top 15, but things could change with your support! Regardless of the outcome for Blockscout this round, we plan to participate again in the future and invite you to vote and donate to the great projects who do make it in to epoch 5!

• Superhack 2024: The online Superhack was a blast with 103 projects building and winning with Blockscout 🚀

• Backdrop Build: Blockscout was a sponsor for v6, and several projects experimented with our explorer when launching their apps. Standouts included:

• Milkroad released an in-depth guide on everything DAppscout. This definitive tour is a great starter for anyone interested in maximizing their DApp discovery and usage.
